Jason Matthews (Author)

Jason Matthews (* 1951 ) is an American author and employee of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Matthews worked for the CIA for a total of 33 years through 2010 and began his writing career after he retired.

In 2014, Matthews was honored with the International Thriller Award for his book Red Sparrow ( Scribner 2013) for best first novel. He was also awarded the Edgar Award for the best first novel by an American author in 2014 for the book Red Sparrow by the National Office of Mystery Writers of America , New York . In 2018, the film adaptation of the work by Francis Lawrence , starring Jennifer Lawrence , was released in cinemas.
