Jason Tahincioğlu
Jason Tahincioğlu , also called Jason Tahinci (born October 29, 1983 in Bristol , United Kingdom ) is a Turkish racing driver .
Tahincioğlu started karting at the age of six . In 1990 he took part in kart races for the first time. From 1991 onwards he was the winner of the mini-kart series for four consecutive years. In 1995 he switched to the promo kart series and finished second behind his sister Raini Tahincioğlu. The following year he took part in the Dutch championships and finished fifth. In 1997 and 1998 he won the promo kart series in Turkey. He then switched to the Super Kart series, in which he won in 1999 and 2000. He ended his karting career with eight Turkish victories.
Tahincioğlu switched to the Turkish Formula 3 and reached 2nd place in the drivers' championship. In 2001 he took a break from racing to finish his school education. From 2003 to 2005 he drove in the British Formula Renault .
In 2006 Tahincioğlu managed to switch to the GP2 series . He was the second driver next to Luca Filippi to get a place in the FMS International team and brought Petrol Ofisi with him as a sponsor. Although he could not score points in the 2006 season , he also drove for FMS International in the 2007 season . In 2008 he drove for the BCN Competición team in the GP2 series Asia series. He will also compete in the Superleague Formula for Galatasaray Istanbul .
For the two Formula Renault 3.5 races held in Turkey in the 2006 season , Tahincioğlu was given a cockpit seat in the 3.5 class. In the same year he drove two races for the Astromega team in the Euroseries 3000 . In 2007 he also competed in four races for the G-Tec team.
Tahincioğlu is currently studying vehicle construction at the University of Bath in England .
