geology
The eruptions of the Jatun Wila Kkolu, the Kari-Kari Caldera, the Cerro Condor Nasa, the Cerro Villacolo and the Cerro Huanapa Pampa formed the Los Frailes plateau in prehistoric times. Due to the last eruption of the Nuevo Mundo in the Holocene , this plateau was covered by thick ignimbrite layers, which mainly consist of pyroclastic material, dacite and andesite .
