Eugène Rixen
Eugène Lambert Adrian Rixen (born July 3, 1944 in Kelmis ) is a Belgian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Goiás .
Life
Eugène Rixen was ordained a priest on June 26, 1970 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Assis and titular bishop of Tabbora on November 30, 1995 . The Bishop of Araçatuba , José Carlos Castanho de Almeida , donated him episcopal ordination on February 25 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Antônio Maria Mucciolo , Archbishop of Botucatu , and Antônio de Souza CSS , Bishop of Assis. As a motto he chose Maranatha, vem Senhor . Bishop Rixen supports the Comissão Pastoral da Terra and the Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra .
On December 2, 1998, Rixen was appointed Bishop of Goiás . From September 21, 2011 to March 21, 2012, he was also Apostolic Administrator of the Territorial Prelature of São Félix during the Sedis vacancy .
On May 27, 2020, Pope Francis accepted Eugène Rixen's resignation due to reasons of age.
