Jeová Elias Ferreira

Jeová Elias Ferreira (born August 24, 1961 in Sobral , Ceará ) is a Brazilian clergyman and appointed Roman Catholic Bishop of Goiás .

Life

Jeová Elias Ferreira studied Philosophy and Catholic Theology at the Nossa Senhora de Fátima Seminary in Brasília . He received in the November 30, 1991 Cathedral of Brasilia , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

After his ordination, Jeová Elias Ferreira initially worked as the parish administrator of the quasi- parish of Nossa Senhora das Graças in Samambaia before he became pastor of the parish of Santíssima Trindade in Ceilândia in February 1992 . From September 1993 to January 2017 Ferreira was pastor of the parish of Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima in Sobradinho . He also obtained a licentiate in philosophy from the Universidade Estadual do Ceará in Fortaleza in 2000 . From 2004 to 2005 Jeová Elias Ferreira also taught Christian social teaching at the Nossa Senhora de Fátima seminary in Brasília. He was also Episcopal Vicar of the Vicariate North of the Archdiocese of Brasília from 2007 to 2015 .

In 2017 Jeová Elias Ferreira completed advanced training courses in pastoral theology at the Centro Bíblico Teológico Pastoral para América Latina y El Caribe in Bogotá and obtained a licentiate in this subject at the Pontifical University of Bolivariana in 2018 . In 2019 Ferreira became Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Brasília and Pastor of the Parish Nossa Senhora de Nazaré in Planaltina . He was also a member of the college of consultors and the diocesan asset management board.

On May 27, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Goiás.
