Sobradinho , officially Portuguese Região Administrativa de Sobradinho ( RA V ), is an administrative region of Brasília with 85,491 inhabitants around 20 km northeast of the city center in the Brazilian federal district . The administrative region borders on Brazlândia , Planaltina (Distrito Federal) , Planaltina (Goiás) , Paranoá , Itapoã , Lago Norte and Brasília.
The name of the administrative region goes back to a Fazenda Sobradinho founded by Antônio Gomes Rabelo on the Ribeirão Sobradinho watercourse in the area. On May 13, 1960, the planned city was founded to settle immigrants from the northeast, Goiás and Bahia , who came as workers to build the new capital Brasília. At first the settlement consisted of 30 families, by the end of 1960 there were already over 8,000 families. On December 10, 1964, Law No. 4.545 divided the federal district into eight administrative regions. Sobradinho became RA V. The Administração Regional de Sobradinho was established by decree no. 456 of October 21, 1965 for independent administration . In 2004 the western sector was spun off as the administrative region RA XXVI Sobradinho II .
Within the regions of the federal district, Sobradinho has the highest population increase, especially in urban areas.

The appointed administrator of the administrative region has been the lawyer Divino de Oliveira Sales since February 23, 2015.
