Riacho Fundo , officially Portuguese Região Administrativa de Riacho Fundo , is the administrative region RA XVII and a city with 52,404 inhabitants 20 km southwest of Brasilia in the Brazilian federal district . The administrative region borders on Riacho Fundo II , Samambaia , Taguatinga , Águas Claras , Núcleo Bandeirante and Park Way . Riacho Fundo became an administrative region on December 15, 1993. On July 5, 2003, Riacho Fundo II was separated as an independent administrative region.
