The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Martin in Ebene Reichenau in the municipality of Reichenau is dedicated to St. Martin . In 1384 an Andreas and Martin chapel was consecrated in Reichenau. Until 1754 the church was a branch church of St. Lorenzen , then a separate vicariate. In 1806 a new cemetery was consecrated. In 1812 the elevation to the parish took place.

Building description

The church is a late baroque building from the middle of the 18th century with a separate choir. The tower on the north side of the choir has round-arched sound openings and is crowned by a pointed pyramid roof from the 19th century. Pilasters pressed into the rough plaster structure the church facade. The windows on the nave and choir have segmented arches, the west facade has differently shaped window openings. The west portal with a pressed arch is protected by a canopy.

A barrel vault with stitch caps rises above the nave . The modern west gallery on stone pillars has a round organ bay. A round arched triumphal arch with fighters connects the nave and the three-step choir with a semicircle closure. A barrel with stab caps also arches over the choir. A straight lintel portal leads into the sacristy .

The high altar was made in the 19th century in the neo-renaissance style. The late Gothic central figure of the church saint was created in a Carinthian workshop in the 1520s. To the side are the statues of the Apostles Peter and Paul . The pulpit , built around 1740/50, is painted in the fields with the four evangelists . The church also features a picture with Martin dividing his coat from the 17th century, a console statue of Johannes Nepomuk from the 18th century, a carved crucifix from the second half of the 18th century between baroque angels and a baptismal font in the neo-renaissance style. 19th century style.
