Jaume March

Jaume March (* around 1334 / 35 in Valencia , † 1410 in Barcelona ) was a Catalan poet, linguist , Katalanist and lexicographer.

life and work

March was a Catalan nobleman in the service of Peter IV and John I of Aragon. He wrote Catalan poetry and in 1371 under the title Llibre de concordances appelat diccionari an important rhyming dictionary with 6000 words, which was published in 1921 by Antoni Griera .

Jaume March was the brother of the poet Pere March (1336-1413) and the uncle of the poet Ausiàs March (1379-1459).
