Javier Lozano Chavira (born February 9, 1971 in Monterrey , Nuevo León ), also known by the nickname El Pastor , is a former Mexican football player who mainly played in midfield .

career

Lozano, who emerged from the youth division of UANL Tigres , was a professional footballer under contract with his home club from 1993 to 1998, where he experienced all the ups and downs of football. In 1996 he won the Mexican Cup competition with the Tigres in March 1996 and relegated to the second division a few weeks later with his club . By winning both competitions , which were held in the 1996/97 season, the immediate return to the top division succeeded .

In 1998 Lozano moved to Atlético Morelia , whose club name was supplemented a year later by the monarch butterfly, which is widespread in the region, with the addition of Monarcas . With him Lozano won the Apertura 2000 - for the first and so far only time in the club's history - the Mexican football championship .

After his departure from Monarcas Morelia, Lozano ended his active career in early 2003 with the Lagartos de Tabasco, who were then newly started in the second division .
