Javiera Brahm
Javiera Brahm (born July 7, 1995 ) is a Chilean athlete who specializes in heptathlon . She won the silver medal in the heptathlon at the South American Championships in 2017 .
Career
She started in Medellín at the Colombian Championships 2017 in the heptathlon. On June 11, 2017, she finished the competition with 5045 points, setting a new personal best. Although she won the competition, she did not win the title because as a Chilean she only had one guest entry right. At the 2017 South American Athletics Championships in Asunción , the capital of Paraguay, she started in the heptathlon competition. She finished the competition with 5168 points and won the silver medal behind the Brazilian Tamara de Sousa . The number of points achieved would actually mean a new personal best, but due to too much wind in an individual discipline, this best performance is not recognized by the IAAF .
In 2018, she started at the Chilean athletics championships in the 100-meter hurdles and long jump . While she was eliminated in the semi-finals of the hurdles, she won the bronze medal in the long jump competition with 5.01 meters on April 21, 2018. On March 24th and 25th she completed her only heptathlon of the season at the Richard Boroto Grand Prix in Cuenca . With their 5002 points they took second place at the end of the competition.
