Tamara Alexandrino de Sousa (born September 8, 1993 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian heptathlete .

Athletic career

Her first international championships were the 2009 youth world championships in Brixen , where she finished 15th with 4522 points. A year later she won the gold medal at the South American Youth Championships in Santiago de Chile . In 2011 she won the gold medal at the Pan American Junior Championships in Miramar and the Junior South American Championships in Medellín . In 2012 she won the bronze medal at the Ibero-American Championships in Barquisimeto , as well as at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona . She then won the silver medal at the U23 South American Championships in São Paulo .

In 2013 she won the gold medal at the South American Championships in Cartagena . A year later she was fifth at the South American Games in Santiago and won the bronze medal in the high jump at the Ibero-American Championships in São Paulo with 1.75 m. In 2015, she finished tenth at the Pan American Games in Toronto . In 2016 she took part in the Ibero-American Championships in Rio de Janeiro , where she was seventh with 4102 points. In 2017 she won the gold medal again at the South American Championships in Luque and thus received a bye for the World Championships in London . There she finished 24th with 5631 points .

In 2013, 2014 and 2017 she became the Brazilian heptathlon champion.
