singer

Morgan made her 1949 high school graduation at the Verdugo Hills High School in Los Angeles . Immediately afterwards, she began her professional career as a singer in popular music . She made a name for herself with public appearances and recordings in the early 1950s. In 1954 she had her first record success with the title Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries . This track was recorded on a single from the New York record company Derby Records. In the course of 1954, Morgan moved to the record company RCA Victor , where she achieved the greatest record success of her career with her first release. The song That's All I Want from You reached third place on the sales charts of the US music magazine Billbord and was able to hold its own in the charts for 21 weeks. At RCA about 20 singles were produced by 1958, of which a further eleven titles came into the top 100. About 15 other singles appeared on MGM between 1959 and 1963 , but only three songs made it onto the newly introduced Billboard Hot 100 . Morgan's last Hot 100 hit was I Walk the Line in 1960 , which reached number 66. In the years 1964 to 1968 there are no known single productions apart from one single on ABC-Paramount (1965). During this time, apart from a few nightclub appearances, she had largely withdrawn into private life. Morgan released her last five singles between 1969 and 1972 with the California record company Beverly Hills Records.

From 1949 Morgan was present on television. She had her first TV appearance in 1949 in the quiz show Stop the Music on ABC . In 1956 she received her own television show, the Jaye P. Morgan Show . She was also a guest on many other TV shows. Mogan took on numerous roles in television series from 1957, including in the series My Three Sons ( My Three Sons , 1962) and Simon & Simon (1986), which were dubbed for Germany . Her first feature film role was in 1973 in the strip Morgan The All-American Boy ( A hell of a nice boy , 1973), followed by Loose Shoes (1980), Night Patrol (1984) and Kevin - Allein in New York (1992).
