The magazine offers a broad coverage of all styles of jazz , from the beginnings to bebop and cool jazz to hard bop and fusion . There are also reports on jazz crossovers such as jazz funk , jazz hip hop or jazz electronica .
Regular sections of the magazine are: news from the jazz world, background reports on individual musicians and bands, reviews of new and re-released CDs and vinyl records , reviews of new jazz books, reviews of jazz events, a national calendar of events and a gossip column.

Jazzwise is - according to its own statements - the best-selling British jazz magazine and aims to be the leading English-language jazz magazine in Europe. The magazine's editor-in-chief is Jon Newey . The editors of the magazine looked new jazz authors through ongoing internships and workshops every November during the London Jazz Festival take place .
Jazzwise was originally part of Jazzwise Publications Limited . The Jazzwise brand and magazine were acquired by MA Business & Leisure Ltd., a Mark Allen Group company , in February 2013 . The Jazzwise Education and Jazzwise Direct brands remained with the original owners and were renamed SendMeMusic .
The 100 Jazz Albums That Shook the World
In its one hundredth issue, which appeared in September 2009, Jazzwise published and reviewed the list " The 100 Jazz Albums That Shook the World " (" The 100 Jazz Albums That Shook the World "). It is an overview of the most pioneering jazz albums from the magazine's point of view.

The widely recognized list was compiled by the magazine's then-editors, Jon Newey and Keith Shadwick , with contributions from Stuart Nicholson , Brian Priestley , Duncan Heining, Kevin Le Gendre, Charles Alexander and Tom Barlow.
Awards
The magazine has received numerous awards since its inception in the UK:
- In 2006 Jazzwise editor Jon Newey was named Jazz Journalist of the Year at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards
- In 2007 Jazzwise won two awards:
- one for best jazz publication at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards and
- one for best jazz publication at the Ronnie Scott's Awards
- In 2009 Jazzwise writer Kevin Le Gendre was named Jazz Journalist of the Year at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards
- In 2010 Jazzwise won three prizes:
- for the second time the award for the best jazz publication at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards
- Jazz Journalist of the Year was Mike Flynn, the editor of the Jazzwise events calendar
- the CD critic Alyn Shipton was "Jazz Broadcaster of the Year"
- In 2012, Jon Newey won the Parliamentary Jazz Award for Jazz Journalist of the Year for the second time
- In 2013 Jazzwise won the coveted "Best Jazz Media" award at the renowned Jazz FM Awards in January 2013
