Jean-Claude Lefebvre

Jean-Claude Lefèbvre (born January 7, 1945 in Nanterre ) is a former French rally driver - and copilot, circuit racing driver and motorsport official.
Career in motorsport
Jean-Claude Lefèbvre began his career in karting in the early 1960s . In contrast to the racing drivers of the 2000 and 2010s, who started this form of motorsport as a child, this was still unusual in Lefèbvre's youth. Between 1961 and 1965, when he had to do one year of military service , he won 50 national and international kart races.
He celebrated his first successes in racing car racing at the end of the 1960s in the French Renault Gordini Cup . Lefèbvre did not become known as a driver, but as a rally co-driver. From 1970 he was a team member at Ford France for six years and co-driver of Jean-François Piot in many races . Jean Todt belonged to the same team for a while and has been close friends with him ever since. In 1978 he became the regular co-driver of Jean-Pierre Nicolas at Peugeot . The duo won the Safari Rally in 1978 on a Peugeot 504 V6 Coupe .
In addition to his involvement as a co-pilot, he also drove rally and circuit races himself. He was a regular starter in the Tour de France for automobiles , and went in 1978 at the 24-hour race at Le Mans at the start, where the used Porsche 934 failed after an engine failure.
After the end of his active career, he became head of communications at Peugeot Sport in 1983 , a position he held until 2010.
