Jean-Claude Mpassy-Nzoumba (born May 27, 1986 in Ilmenau ) is a Congolese football player who also has German citizenship .

Career

The defender Mpassy-Nzoumba, who is often just called Mpassy for short, got into German men's football through the youth teams of SV Germania Ilmenau and FC Hansa Rostock when he switched to the second representative of 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 2005 at the age of 19 . For this Mpassy completed in the 2005/06 season of the third class regional league but only two missions, whereupon he left the club again for the following season and joined 1. FC Saarbrücken .

In Saarbrücken, Mpassy was first used again for the club's second representation, with which he took part in the fourth-class Oberliga Südwest in the 2006/07 season. With the simultaneous relegation of the first Saarbrücker team to the league, the second representation also rose this season, but Mpassy moved up to the first team and played in the following season 2007/08 in the Oberliga Südwest. Mpassy recommended himself with 25 missions during this season for the national soccer team of the Republic of the Congo , in which he was used for the first time in the World Cup qualifier against Sudan on June 8, 2008.

Mpassy then changed the club again and joined SV 07 Elversberg , for which he ran up in 2008/09 in the now fourth division regional league, but was also used in the second representation of the club, which was now in the fifth-class Oberliga Südwest. In the summer of 2009 he left Elversberg to join the regional league rivals VfR Wormatia Worms . In the summer of 2010 he signed a contract with FC 08 Homburg , which had just been promoted to the regional league. Homburg could not prevent the direct relegation to the Oberliga Südwest, even with Mpassy-Nzoumba's help. The defender played 29 games for the Saarlanders, in which he was able to score 3 goals. After relegation, the Congolese international moved to the Austrian third division club SC Columbia Floridsdorf . In the summer of 2012, he left SC Columbia Floridsdorf and moved to its league rivals 1. Simmeringer SC .

Since the 2018/19 season he has been working as a presenter for the Sky program Die Abstauber.
