Jean-Pascal van Ypersele de Strihou (born April 14, 1957 ) is a Belgian climatologist .

Life

Van Ypersele researches and teaches as a professor at the “Institute for Astronomy and Geophysics Georges Lemaître ” at the Université catholique de Louvain . He is also a member of the Belgian “Conseil Fédéral du Développement Durable” and President of the Energy and Climate Working Group.

Van Ypersele was appointed to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and in 2007, as Vice-Chair of Working Group II “Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability”, he was responsible for the creation of the fourth assessment report .
