Jean-Pierre Bionda

Jean Charles "Jean-Pierre" Bionda (born February 29, 1928 in Cortaillod , † November 11, 2003 in Nyon ) was a Swiss jazz pianist . Alongside Henri Chaix , he was “probably the most influential pianist” in French-speaking Switzerland ( Bruno Spoerri ).

Live and act

Since 1951 he was a long-time member of the New Orleans Wild Cats . He played Dixieland with Raymond Droz ; at the same time he appeared in the field of modern jazz with Raymond Court , Serge Wintsch and Pierre Bouru. At the Jazz Festival Montreux in 1974 he performed with the Pop Corn All Stars (including Raymond Court and Raymond Droz) in an Armstrong tribute and in 1985 with the quintet by Court and Peter Candiotto. He also recorded with his own trio, repeatedly with the Tremble Kids and with Oscar Klein .
