Live and act

Court, who was training as a cabinet maker , began playing the trumpet as an autodidact at the age of 18 . He first appeared with Raymond Droz and played Dixieland (e.g. at the Zurich Jazz Festivals in 1954 and 1955), then switched to modern jazz after a few years . From 1959 he performed with Flavio Ambrosetti , Kurt Weil , George Gruntz and Daniel Humair . In 1960 he played with drummer Pierre Bouru's combo at the Antibes Festival , where he was awarded the Trompette d'Or . This resulted in appearances in Paris with Martial Solal , René Urtreger , Lou Bennett and Bud Powell .

He then worked in his profession as a carpenter, but soon played again as an amateur in Lausanne. Since 1982 he has been working professionally as a musician again. On the one hand, he was a member of the Red Hot Peppers and Papa's in hot jazz. On the other hand, he played with greats from modern jazz such as Johnny Griffin , Cedar Walton and Kenny Drew . In 1985 he performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival with a group led by him and Peter Candiotto . He also made recordings with Géo Voumard.
