Jean-Pierre Dorléac

Jean-Pierre Dorleac (born April 12, 1943 in Toulon , France ) is a French costume designer who worked for film, television and theater.

Life

In a career spanning more than forty years, Jean-Pierre Dorléac has worked as a costume designer for film and television, theater, variety shows, opera and burlesque . His biggest success was two Emmys for the costume design of Battlestar Galactica (1979) and The Lot (1999). He was also nominated a total of eleven times.

He was also nominated for the Best Costume Design category at the 1981 Academy Awards for the film A Deadly Dream .

In 2015 he also published his memoirs The Naked Truth: An Irreverent Chronicle of Delirious Escapades , which contain memories of his work with Fred Astaire , Buddy Ebsen , Henry Fonda , Cary Grant , David Hemmings , Louis Jourdan , Mae West and Patricia Neal , among others .
