Jean-Pierre Lamboray

Jean-Pierre Lamboray (born March 6, 1882 in Luxembourg ; † November 23, 1962 in Luxembourg) was a Luxembourgish draftsman and graphic artist.

The son of customs inspector Jean-François Lamboray and his wife Thérèse Laux studied art in Luxembourg (until 1902), Karlsruhe (1902–1905) and Paris (1905–1907) after finishing school . Nevertheless, he decided to pursue a career in customs.

In 1909 he married Anne Merten in Diekirch , with whom he had a daughter (* 1911) and a son (* 1915). Lamboray was transferred to the Ardennes in 1914 to be able to draw there.

In 1917 Lamboray was appointed Maître de dessin at the Athenaeum in Luxembourg, and in 1930 Professeur de dessin . Travels took him to Munich , Vienna and Provence, among others . Lamboray was a member of the Comité du Cercle Artistique and regularly participated in the exhibitions of the Cercle . His pictures were also shown elsewhere, for example in Paris in 1937 and in New York in 1939 .

In 1947 Lamboray retired. He traveled to Ticino and the Vosges . His wife died in 1955 and his daughter died in 1959.

Jean-Pierre Lamboray died in Luxembourg in 1962. He was buried in Diekirch.
