Jean-Pierre Napoléon Eugène Chevandier de Valdrôme
Jean-Pierre Napoléon Eugène Chevandier de Valdrôme (born August 15, 1810 in Saint-Quirin , Meurthe department ; † December 2, 1878 in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department ) was a French businessman and politician.
He attended the Central School for Arts and Manufactures and became director of the large mirror manufacture in Cirey-les-Forges ( Cirey-sur-Vezouze ) near Saarburg. He was a member of the General Council for the Canton of Lorquin , a member of the Societe Agriculture and, from 1857, a corresponding member of the Paris Academy .
In 1859 he went into politics. When the session opened in June 1869, he participated in the interpellation of 116 from the Central Party, which was intended to put an end to the Rouher dictatorship. On January 2, 1870, he joined the newly formed Ollivier Liberal Ministry and took over the Ministry of the Interior. At the plebiscite of May 8, 1870, he drove the people to vote. On August 10, 1870, he and the other members of the Ollivier Ministry gave his discharge and retired into private life.
