Jean Benjamin Sleiman OCD (born June 30, 1946 in Ghalboun ) is Archbishop of Baghdad .

Life

Jean Benjamin Sleiman joined the Order of the Discalced Carmelites and was ordained a priest on December 8, 1973 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Baghdad on November 29, 2000 . He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in Lebanon , Antonio Maria Vegliò , on January 20 of the next year; Co- consecrators were Paul Dahdah OCD, Vicar Apostolic of Beirut , and Paul Bassim OCD, Apostolic Vicar Emeritus of Beirut .
