Paul Dahdah

Paul Dahdah OCD (born January 8, 1941 in Zgharta ) is a Lebanese religious and retired Apostolic Vicar of Beirut .

Life

Paul Dahdah joined the Order of the Discalced Carmelites and was ordained a priest on April 17, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Baghdad on May 30, 1983 . The Apostolic Nuncio in Lebanon , Archbishop Luciano Angeloni , donated him episcopal ordination on August 21 of the same year; Co-consecrators were Raphael I. Bidawid , Patriarch of Babylon , and Paul Bassim OCD, Vicar Apostolic of Beirut.

On July 30, 1999 he was appointed Vicar Apostolic of Beirut and Titular Archbishop pro hac vice of Arae in Numidia . On August 2, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
