Jean Douchet

Jean Douchet (born January 19, 1929 in Arras , Pas-de-Calais department ; † November 22, 2019 ) was a French cineast , historian , film critic , director , actor and writer .

Life

Jean Douchet studied philosophy. After graduating, he worked for various film magazines, including the Cahiers du cinéma . He taught film history and film theory at the Paris Film School and various other French universities. He also worked as a writer for didactic films that were shot for school television. He also prepared film analyzes for the bonus material on DVDs , including the film Die Sehnsucht der Veronika Voss . As an actor, he appeared in 28 productions from 1959 until the end of 2018, including several short films.
