Jean Juvénal des Ursins

Jean Juvénal des Ursins (born September 13, 1388 ; † July 14, 1473 ) was a French historian , diplomat and bishop . He was the second son of Jean Jouvenel and Michèle de Vitry.

After studying both rights (civil law and canon law ) with subsequent doctorate, he became a royal lawyer in the Parlement of Poitiers in 1429 . In 1432 he became Bishop of Beauvais and in 1444 Bishop of Laon . He became Archbishop of Reims in 1449. In addition to a Histoire de Charles VI , the beginning of which (the period up to 1402) belongs to the Grandes Chroniques de France , he wrote a variety of political works of great value.
