Jean Marie du Lau d'Allemans
Jean Marie du Lau d'Allemans , also Jean Marie Dulau d'Allemans , (born October 30, 1738 at La Coste Castle , Grézels ; † September 2, 1792 in Paris ) was the last Archbishop of Arles since 1775 .
Du Lau restored ecclesiastical order in his diocese and came to Paris as a member of the National Assembly during the French Revolution , where he refused the oath of the civil constitution for the clergy , whereupon he was imprisoned in the Carmelite monastery there and murdered along with the other prisoners .
In 1926 he was beatified along with 190 victims of the September murders . His feast day is September 2nd.
