Jean Umansky (born before 1980) is a sound engineer and sound engineer .

Life

Umansky began his career in film staff in 1980 and has worked mainly on short and documentary films for a good decade . Maurice Pialat's literary adaptation of The Bull of Paris is one of his early feature films . In the 1990s he was involved in the Russian film productions The Sun That Deceives Us and The Barber of Siberia . In 2002 he was nominated for The Fabulous World of Amélie together with Vincent Arnardi and Guillaume Leriche for the Oscar in the category Best Sound , but that year the award went to the war film Black Hawk Down by director Ridley Scott . Umansky was nominated three times for the César between 2002 and 2010 , but he could not win. In 2011 he received the Genie Award for the Canadian production The Woman Who Sings - Incendies .
