Jean (Jan) Van Cant (born November 20, 1888 in Blauwput bei Löwen or June 6, 1891 , † March 20, 1926 ) was a Belgian football player .

career

Van Cant played for Racing Club Mechelen as a striker. For the club he scored 13 goals in 61 top division games in the years 1910 to 1912 and 1919 to 1921. In 1912, the club rose from the Belgian first class, after the rise in 1914 the game paused due to the First World War for five years.

From 1912 to 1914 Van Cant scored seven goals in ten international matches for the Belgian national team . He managed a hat trick in a 6-2 win in a friendly against Germany on November 23, 1913 - as did his team-mate Sylvain Brébart .
