Jean de La Trémoille (* 1377 , † 1449 ) was lord of Jonvelle and a member of the house of La Trémoille . He was one of the highest dignitaries at the Burgundian court and performed the duties of a Grand Maître and a Grand Chambellan for the dukes Johann Ohnefurcht and Philip the Good . In this position he became one of the founding members of the Order of the Golden Fleece in 1430 (Diploma No. 12).

Jean de La Trémoille was the son of Guy VI. de La Trémoille, called Le Vaillant (* 1346; † 1397), Lord of Jonvelle, and Marie de Sully, Princesse de Boisbelle (the widow of Charles de Berry (1362-1382), Count of Montpensier , and daughter-in-law of Jean de Valois , duc de Berry ). His younger brother was Georges de La Trémoille (* around 1382, † 1446). In addition to Jonvelle, his widespread possessions included the lords of Saint-Loup-sur-Semouse , Conflans-Sainte-Honorine , Sully-sur-Loire , Antilly , Bauché (now part of Vendœuvres ), Amboise , Montrichard , Bléré and the Barony Dracy .

In 1414 he took part in the war against the inhabitants of Liège and was one of the military leaders of the Duke of Burgundy when he took over the reign of France in 1418. In 1419 he defeated the French at Senlis and was one of the signatories of the subsequent peace treaty between Dauphin Karl and Duke John of Burgundy, whom he finally accompanied to Montereau-Fault-Yonne , where the duke was murdered. He fought for his son Philipp in 1421 at the Battle of Mons-en-Vimeux , which ended with another victory over the Dauphin's troops.

Jean de La Trémoille married on July 17, 1424 Jacqueline d'Amboise, daughter of Ingelger II. ( House Amboise ) and Jeanne de Craon. The couple had a daughter, Jacqueline, who was married to Claude Gouffier, Marquis de Boisy.
