Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (short: Jedi-Knight 2 ) is the official sequel to the game Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II and was released worldwide for Windows in March 2002. Publications for other consoles followed. It is the third game in the Jedi Knight series.

action

Kyle Katarn has turned away from the Jedi and the Force after the events in Jedi-Knight . He works with his girlfriend Jan Ors for the new republic against the survivors of the empire. During an assignment, Jan is surprised and captured by a dark Jedi named Desann. Kyle can't oppose the dark Jedi and has to admit defeat first. Frustrated by his failure, Kyle goes to the Jedi Valley to get support from Luke Skywalker . Desann anticipated these steps and so Desann managed to locate the Valley of the Jedi by having Kyle pursued. With his help, the adversary creates an army of dark Jedis with whom he wants to overthrow the new republic. Kyle has now allied himself with Luke and trained by him to regain his Jedi powers. Strengthened in power, Kyle Katarn faces the dark forces again and this time can defeat them.

Gameplay

Jedi-Knight 2 is primarily a classic first person shooter. Only in the later course and when you acquire the lightsaber does the third-person perspective gradually come to the fore, while the usual firearms are of secondary importance. In addition to the lightsaber, the character Kyle Katarn learns increasingly powerful powers. As in its predecessor, there are neutral, light and dark power forces.

Multiplayer mode

The game offers an extensive multiplayer mode to compete either in your own network or via the Internet together or against each other. The following game modes are provided for this:

While the first three modes are known from other games, Capture the Ysalamiri is a modification of Capture the Flag mode. Duel is a type of game that enables targeted 1 on 1 duels, and the Jedi Master mode is a kind of death match where a Jedi Master competes against numerous normal characters.

eSports

The multiplayer mode found many fans and is still played in tournaments today , based on the self-organization of some clans and communities.
