Myer Goodhue "Jeff" Alexander (born July 2, 1910 in Seattle , Washington , † December 23, 1989 ibid) was an American composer of film music and was mainly through his compositions in the films In Colorado the devil is loose and Jailhouse Rock - known rhythm behind bars .

Life

After attending school, Alexander studied at the Becker Conservatory with Edmund Ross and Joseph Schillinger and then worked as a composer, songwriter , conductor and arranger . In 1952 he joined the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and worked with Jack Brooks and Larry Orenstein in the years that followed.
