Jeffrey Glen Baker (born June 21, 1981 in Bad Kissingen , Bavaria ) is an American professional baseball player . In Major League Baseball who played Utility player most recently with the Miami Marlins . Since his release from the Marlins in July 2015, Baker has been in free agent status.

Career

Colorado Rockies

He premiered in Major League Baseball in 2005 for the Colorado Rockies . Baker wore jersey number 10 during his time with the Rockies.

Chicago Cubs

On 2 July 2009 joined Baker in exchange for minor league - pitcher Al Alburquerque to the Chicago Cubs . His jersey number with the Cubs was first 28, later 3.

Detroit Tigers

On August 5, 2012, the Cubs Baker transferred to the Detroit Tigers and will receive two yet to be named players from the Tigers in return. Baker only played 15 games for Detroit before moving to the Atlanta Braves on August 31, 2012 . As part of this, Atlanta will hand over a player to Detroit, whose identity has not yet been determined.

Texas Rangers

In January 2013, Baker signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers and was part of the MLB team at the opening game. His first hit for the Rangers was against the Mariners on April 13, and his first home run for Texas followed on April 19, also against the Seattle team. On June 14th, he injured his thumb and had to take a month off.

Miami Marlins

In February 2014, Baker signed a two-year contract for $ 3.7 million with the Miami Marlins . On July 31, 2015, Baker was released by the Marlins and has been in free agent status ever since.
