Jeff Fuller (musician)

Jeff Fuller (* around 1960) is an American jazz musician ( double bass , electric bass , composition ) and music teacher.

Live and act

Fuller graduated from Yale College; he received his master's degree in composition from the Yale School of Music , where he studied with Bülent Arel. From the 1970s he worked with Bruno De Filippi , Don Friedman , Don Lanphere , Lou Donaldson , Mose Allison , Dizzy Gillespie , Jo Jones , Gerry Mulligan and Clark Terry ; he also took part in the recordings of Allen Lowe . He also directs the Sambeleza jazz trio and toured with Paquito D'Rivera , Daniel Ponce , Orlando “Puntilla” Ríos and Hilton Ruiz . He has composed and arranged for the salsa band Irazú and has written commissioned compositions for the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Hartford Symphony Orchestra and Meet the Composer . He released the album The Call from Within (2014) with his own compositions under his own name , followed by Shoreline Blues (2016). In the field of jazz he was involved in 43 recording sessions between 1979 and 2014. Fuller taught composition and jazz theory at the ACES Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven; He currently directs the Premier Jazz Ensemble at the Neighborhood Music School and teaches at the Yale School of Music.
