Jeff Klotz

Jeff S. Klotz (* 1990 in Pforzheim ) is a German author , publisher, museum director and art collector. He lives in Schloss Bauschlott ( Neulingen community ), where he runs the JS Klotz publishing house . From 2009 to 2019 he was involved in Remchingen as a local politician.

Live and act

Jeff Klotz grew up in Remchingen and Copenhagen and studied history, classical archeology as well as prehistory and early history at the University of Heidelberg .

Since 2008 he has been jointly responsible for setting up the Roman Museum in Remchingen , which he has been running on a voluntary basis since 2009. In addition, Jeff Klotz has been organizing the Northern Black Forest Cultural and Museum Landscape Association since 2013 and has been the curator of the Pforzheim Archaeological Museum since 2015.

He runs the JS Klotz publishing house in Neulingen and Pforzheim and runs the art museum Schloss Bauschlott in Bauschlott and the café in Schloss Bauschlott . As part of a cooperation with the Lessing-Gymnasium Karlsruhe , he organizes events and excursions for the students on archaeological and historical topics. With the Villa Wagner, one of the best preserved Art Nouveau buildings in Baden-Württemberg, Klotz runs a cultural center in Pforzheim.

In 2016 he received the archeology award of the state of Baden-Württemberg. His research focuses on building research, architecture and church history.

Collection Klotz

Jeff S. Klotz is a dedicated art collector. His collection of around 300 works with a focus on the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century forms the basis of the Bauschlott Castle Art Museum. In 2008 Klotz started his collection with a drawing by Theodor Verhas . a. Includes works by Wilhelm Leibl , Franz von Lenbach , Auguste Rodin , Louis Gurlitt , Otto Dix and other artists. His collection includes larger holdings of works by KRH Sonderborg , Ivo Hauptmann and Carlos Grethe . He also manages the estate of the artist couple Vera and Bert Joho for the Reinshagen family.
