Jeff Parke (born March 23, 1982 in Abington Township , Pennsylvania ) is an American football player in the position of center- back . Since the end of March 2010 he has been under contract with Seattle Sounders FC .

Parke began his career in the youth teams of FC Delco, as well as in 2000 with the soccer team at Drexel University in Philadelphia , which he attended until 2003 and for which he completed 16 games in his senior year and scored a goal in the last game of the season, what meant winning the title. In 2004 he was accepted by the New York Red Bulls , who at that time still played under the name MetroStars , as the sixtieth and thus last player in the MLS SuperDraft . He made his debut in Major League Soccer on April 3, 2004 when he played against Columbus Crew , which the MetroStars won 3-1. His first goal in a league game scored Parke on June 12, 2004 in the 3-1 loss to the San José Earthquakes . At the La Manga Cup in 2004 he scored the decisive goal for the MetroStars , who were then allowed to receive the winner's cup. In the following seasons he became a regular player in the team and thus also became an important player in the defensive line of his club.
From 2004 to his departure to Seattle Sounders FC on November 26, 2008, he completed 132 games for MetroStars / RBNY. In the 2008 MLS Expansion Draft , he was selected and signed by Seattle Sounders FC. However, he was released after a short time.
On March 31, 2009, the Vancouver Whitecaps , who lead their game operations in the second-rate USL First Division , announced the commitment of Parke. A year later he moved again to the Seattle Sounders.
Doping result
On October 16, 2008, it was announced that Parke and his teammate Jon Conway had tested positive for the steroids androstadienone and boldenone metabolites . The two doping cases were the first in the 15-year history of Major League Soccer .
