Jekaterina Fjodorovna Iljina ( Russian Екатерина Фёдоровна Ильина , scientific transliteration Ekaterina Fëdorovna Il'ina ; born March 7, 1991 in Tolyatti , Soviet Union ) is a Russian handball player .
Career
Ilyina played for the Russian club GK Lada Tolyatti until 2009 and then moved to GK Kuban Krasnodar . After the backcourt player ran a total of four seasons for Kuban, she returned to Lada Tolyatti. In 2014 she won the EHF Cup with Lada . She then moved to league rivals GK Rostov-on-Don . With Rostov she won the Russian championship in 2015, 2017 and 2018, the Russian Cup in 2015 and the EHF Cup in 2017. After Ilyina paused the entire 2018/19 season for health reasons, she joined the Russian first division club PGK CSKA Moscow in October 2019 .
Ilyina was a member of the Russian national team . With the Russian selection, she took part in the European Championships in 2012 and 2014 . She won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
