Jenny Bae ( Hangul : 배영란 ) (* 1980 ) is a South Korean crossover - violinist , both classical concerts and plays pop music.

life and career

Jenny Bae grew up in Seoul and later lived in New York City , where she studied with Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School , one of the most prestigious conservatories in the United States .

Her international appearances began in 2000 when she played together with Luciano Pavarotti in front of 90,000 spectators in Seoul . In 2001 Jenny Bae was a guest at the Rheingau Music Festival . In the following years she played with Eric Clapton , Ronan Keating and Paul Young , among others . She achieved particular success on May 6, 2004 when she performed with Zucchero at the Royal Albert Hall . In 2007, shortly after the inauguration of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon , Jenny Bae addressed the United Nations.
