Jenny Lind Island ( Inuktitut : Qikiqtarjuaq ) is a 420 km² island in the Kitikmeot region of the Canadian territory of Nunavut .
The island is 20 km off the southeast coast of Victoria Island and about 120 km southeast of the Cambridge Bay settlement .
The island was named after the Swedish-born opera singer Jenny Lind .

The relief of the island shows rocky edges, low-lying swamp areas, areas with sedge and sandy shorelines.
fauna
Jenny Lind Island has the status of an Important Bird Area (# NU088) in Canada and an area classified by the Canadian Wildlife Service as an important resting and breeding area for migratory birds ("Key Habitat Site"). The following bird species should be mentioned: the Canada goose , the small snow goose ( C. c. Caerulescens ) and the pygmy snow goose .
Musk ox lives on the island.
history
The island is uninhabited. However, it is still used by the North Warning System . It was originally part of the Distant Early Warning Line known as Site CAM-1.
From time to time the island is visited by cruise ships on their way through the Northwest Passage.
