Jens Beeck (born September 19, 1969 in Münster ) is a German politician ( FDP ) from Lingen (Ems) . He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 .

education and profession

Beeck completed his school education in 1988 with the Abitur . He then worked in the catering business in the Black Forest before starting his law studies. Beeck passed his first state examination in law in 1996. Beeck then worked as an administrative clerk at the Nordhorn employment office and completed his basic military service . After completing his legal clerkship , he completed his second state examination in 2000.

Beeck has been working as an independent lawyer with his own law firm since 2001. Since then he has focused on clients in criminal law as well as family , social and care law . He was also a managing partner and co-founder of an internet agency between 2000 and 2009 and from 2000 to 2010 he was part of the office of member of the Bundestag Carl-Ludwig Thiele (FDP).

Political career

Jens Beeck has been a member of the Free Democrats since 1987 and Chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the Lingen (Ems) city ​​council since 1991 . From 1992 to 2017 Beeck was the local chairman of the FDP Lingen, between 2006 and 2011 he was the chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the district council of the Emsland district.

Beeck has been chairman of the FDP district association Osnabrück since 2012 . In addition, he has been a member of the VLK ( Association of Liberal Local Politicians ) in Lower Saxony since 1995 , of which he has been chairman since 2014. Beeck has been a member of the executive board of the FDP Lower Saxony since 2014 .

Beeck's main political interests include society and volunteering, civil rights and social affairs, as well as justice and home affairs.

In the federal election on September 24, 2017, Beeck was elected as a member of the 19th German Bundestag via second place on the state list of the FDP Lower Saxony.

In addition to his political commitment, Beeck is a member of various social clubs and associations. Among other things, he is on the board of the AIDS-Hilfe Emsland, treasurer of GELingen eV, member of the cafeteria in Germany and member of Hospiz Lingen. Beeck is also involved in animal welfare associations and a large senior citizens' association in the southern Emsland.
