Jerry Easy

Jerrold R. "Jerry" Leichtling (born June 1, 1948 ) is an American screenwriter and journalist .

Career

Jerry Leichtling, who grew up in New York , graduated from Martin Van Buren High School in Queens Village, Queens , and then went to college to study literature and philosophy . He then became a cab driver in New York and got his first job in the entertainment industry while working for the Shubert Organization .

On his irregular trips to Toronto he met the divorced agency boss Arlene Sarner , whom he later married. Since Leichtling already gained experience as a journalist for the Village Voice , Rolling Stone , Harper's Magazine and the music publisher RCA , they decided to write scripts together from 1981. In one of the first jointly sold scripts, the disappointing one of his wife was processed with the Canadian music producer Bob Ezrin . The book was filmed in 1986 by Francis Ford Coppola under the title Peggy Sue Has Married .

He is currently blogging as a journalist for the Huffington Post .
