Jerome Saganovich (born July 5, 1964 in Allentown , Pennsylvania ) better known as Jerry Sags , is a former American wrestler and one half of the Nasty Boys , a tag team of the former WWF . Saganovich is married to Dusty Rhodes ' sister-in-law. Jerry Sags is under contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

Career

Saganovich began his career at AWA in 1985 as a referee before teaming up with Brian Yandrisovitz aka Brian Knobbs as the Nasty Boys in 1986 . After successful in Tennessee and Florida Championship Wrestling , they joined the NWA in 1990 . A year later, they switched to the WWF, where they were able to take the title from the Hart Foundation at Wrestlemania VII . They lost the title back to the Road Warriors during a feud .

In 1993 they went back to WCW , where they got Missy Hyatt as manager and were able to win the World Tag Team title three times.

In 1997 there was a shoot against Scott Hall , who at that time had great power backstage as a founding member of the New World Order . A few weeks earlier, Scott Hall had injured Sagg's neck in a chair blow. When a new chair kick occurred due to a misunderstanding during a match, Saggs attacked Scott Hall and knocked out a tooth. However, Kevin Nash had struck. Shortly thereafter, Saggs almost got fired, but ended up being given leave of absence. However, as his neck injury got worse, he began to retire from wrestling.

In 2001 he and Knobbs went to the XWF . Together with Roddy Piper he was one of the trainers there. With Knobbs, he revived the Nasty Boys before both finally resigned in 2002.

The two continue to appear in various independent leagues as Nasty Boys. In 2010 they were briefly at TNA , where they mainly competed against Team 3-D .

Private life

Jerry Sags is married and has three children. He lives with his family in Treasure Island , Florida. He is related by marriage to Dusty Rhodes .
