Jerzy Pietrzyk
Jerzy Pietrzyk (born April 17, 1955 in Warsaw ) is a former Polish sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .
Career
He started his career as a hurdler and became a 1973 European Junior Champion in the 400m hurdles before focusing on the flat sprint. 1975 won the Universiade in Rome in the 400-meter run and with the 4-by-400-meter relay .
He celebrated his greatest success at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal. The Polish relay team won the silver medal behind the United States team in the line-up of Ryszard Podlas , Jan Werner , Zbigniew Jaremski and Jerzy Pietrzyk. Pietrzyk started in Montreal in the 400-meter run and reached the semi-finals.
At the 1980 Olympic Games , he was eliminated in the preliminary round with both the relay and over 400 m.
Jerzy Pietrzyk is 1.90 m tall and had a competition weight of 76 kg. He started among others for the athletics departments of Górnik Zabrze and Gwardia Warsaw .
