Zbigniew Jaremski

Zbigniew Jaremski (born June 19, 1949 in Zabrze ; † January 3, 2011 there ) was a Polish sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

Career

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he finished fifth with the Polish 4 x 400 meter relay . In the 400-meter run Jaremski reached the quarter-finals.

He celebrated the greatest success of his career at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal. The Polish 4 x 400 meter relay won the silver medal behind the United States team in the line-up of Ryszard Podlas , Jan Werner , Zbigniew Jaremski and Jerzy Pietrzyk . Jaremski was eliminated again in the quarter-finals over 400 m.

Another silver medal in the relay he won at the European Athletics Championships in 1978 in Prague together with Ryszard Podlas, Jerzy Włodarczyk , and Cezary Łapiński behind the team of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Zbigniew Jaremski was 1.82 m tall and had a competition weight of 75 kg. The three-time Polish champion in the 400-meter run (1972, 1973, 1975) started for Górnik Zabrze .
