Jesús Mena Campos (born May 28, 1968 in Gómez Palacio , Durango ) is a former Mexican diver . He took part in two Olympic Games and won a medal.

Career

Jesús Mena Campos made his Olympic debut at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul . In the diving competitions , he competed both from the three-meter board and from the ten-meter tower. In the competition from the board, Mena Campos reached the final round and finished in seventh place with 598.77 points, right behind his compatriot Jorge Mondragón Vásquez . Jesús Mena Campos was 66.51 points behind on the bronze place. In the competition from the tower, Mena Campos won the bronze medal. He was with 594.39 points behind the Chinese Xiong Ni , who won silver with 637.47 points, and the Olympic champion Greg Louganis , who reached 638.61 points.

Four years later, Jesús Mena Campos competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona . During the opening ceremony, he was the flag bearer of the Mexican Olympic team. He only entered the competition from the tower , but missed the final battle with 15th place in the qualifying round. Before that, he had won the silver medal from the tower at the Pan American Games that took place in Havana the previous year .
