history

Jesingen 1683, forest warehouse book by Andreas Kieser

Jesingen was first mentioned as Osingen in 769 in the Lorsch Codex on the occasion of a donation to the Lorsch Monastery and is thus the oldest place mentioned in writing in the district of the town of Kirchheim unter Teck. Via the Zähringers , the dukes of Teck and the county of Aichelberg , the place came to the Counts of Kirchheim in 1330 and finally to Württemberg in 1334 . A church was first mentioned in 1419, a council and school house in 1573.

On September 1, 1974, it was incorporated into the large district town of Kirchheim unter Teck.

coat of arms

The blazon of the coat of arms of Jesingen reads: A blue oblique left bar in silver, covered with three silver linden leaves. The blue bar represents the Lindach , the river flowing through Jesingen.

Buildings

The center of Jesing is characterized by the historic Petruskirche , the town hall and the old wine press . Most of the Petruskirche dates back to 1421; the interior has preserved frescoes from the 15th century. The town hall also served as a schoolhouse for a long time. Since the end of the communal independence of Jesingen it has been the seat of the administrative office. On February 17, 2014, the Jesingen local council decided to demolish the old building in need of renovation. A new building was erected at the same location.
