Jessica Allen (born April 17, 1993 in Perth ) is an Australian cyclist.

Athletic career

As a child, Jessie Allen competed in triathlons . When she was nine years old, her father introduced her to track cycling . At first she was afraid of the speed and the slopes; after a year she switched to road cycling . At the age of 13 she played her first championship at the state level and at 15 at the national level, on track and road. As a U19 driver, she decided to focus on the road in the future.

In 2011 Allen became Junior World Champion in the individual time trial in Copenhagen and also won the time trial title at the Oceania Championships. In 2012 she received the Amy Gillett Scholarship , which gave her the opportunity to compete in races in Europe. In 2013 she rode for the French team Vienne-Futuroscope and spent eight months in Europe, during which she did not feel well and her motivation for cycling waned.

In 2014, Jessica Allen was Oceania champion in road racing. In this year as in the following she competed in races in North America and Australia and found the joy of cycling again. From July 2016 she drove for Orica-AIS . The following year she was Australian champion in the criterion . The UCI Road World Championships in 2018 she won with the team Mitchelton Scott (previously Orica-AIS) to fifth place in the team time trial .
