Jesus Villafañe Marquina , called Fañe (born November 19, 1986 in Barinas ) is a Venezuelan beach volleyball player .

Career

Villafañe played in 2006 at the Junior World Championships in Mysłowice with Rodolfo Serquera. In 2008 he formed a duo with Farid Mussa and completed his first open tournaments as well as two Grand Slams in Berlin and Paris . He then got together with his long-term partner Igor Hernández . At their first joint appearance in Guarujá , Villafañe / Hernandez reached the top ten in ninth place. They achieved the same result shortly afterwards in Manama . In 2009, the two Venezuelans achieved 17th place at the Grand Slam in Gstaad . In the following year, however, they did not get past 33rd place in international tournaments and in 2011 the best result was 25th place at the Brasília Open. In 2012 Villafañe / Hernandez were 17 each in Beijing and Berlin. They qualified for the Olympic Games in London at the CSV Continental Cup . There they met the German participants Jonathan Erdmann and Kay Matysik in the preliminary round .
