  • Playlist mode: This can also be used as a docked window and / or a window that can be retracted from the edge of the screen, which means that the player can be used almost completely directly from the playlist without interfering with work on the screen.

Supported media formats

jetAudio supports the following media formats:

history

In 1997 Cowon brought the first version of the jetAudio player onto the market and was thus internationally successful. After only three months, the program was number 1 on ZDNet , CNET and TUCOWS . In 1998, Cowon received several national and international awards for jetAudio.

JetAudio was originally designed as a pure audio player for the semi-professional market. Over the course of its development, it became a general media player.

Up to and including version 4, the common concept of a modular structure was retained. Wave, MIDI, tracker formats and audio CDs could be started separately from each other and at the same time from the interface. Until then, a software remote control was installed as an additional operating aid.

With version 5, the operating concept was radically changed, so that it was now comparable to the operation of other playback programs. However, the extended audio capabilities were retained, which were considerably expanded in version 6 through additional filters and effects as well as further audio intervention options. Many audio tools have become built-in over time.

From version 6 on there is a "media center" which replaces the previous album function.

In the course of the development history, the spelling of the name jetAudio has been changed again and again: From version 4.x, jetAudio is the correct spelling, the previously used spellings were jetaudio and jet audio .

Surfaces (skins)

The surface of jetAudio can be exchanged for other available surfaces by using different skins . This allows you to optically adapt the player to your own taste. There is the possibility of the so-called freeform design . This means that both the shape and size of the surface can be freely designed. A skin consists of graphics, fonts and the script in which all features of the surface such as position information, functions, etc. are entered.

jetAudio + VX

In addition to the free version of jetAudio (jetAudio Basic) there is also a chargeable Plus-VX version. With it it is possible to use all extensions to encode in the MP3 format, to use BBE sound effects, 32-bit output, DRC ( Dynamic Range Control ) and the dynamic limiter as well as the audio trimmer, the audio mixing Recorder and additional filters to use.

jetCast

jetCast is a system for operating an Internet radio . It is part of jetAudio, but can also be used separately. With this, the user can offer his own titles via jetCast server as a stream in just a few steps , which can be received either directly via the jetCast network or generally online. In addition, the sending user can speak to the audience via the microphone and communicate directly with them using the built-in chat program.
