Jever-Carolinensieler Railway Company

The Jever-Carolinensieler Eisenbahngesellschaft (JCEG) operated the Jever – Harle railway from 1888 to 1897 . It was a company supported by the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg under the management of the Erlanger & Söhne bank in Frankfurt am Main . Their route connected the Jever station on the East Frisian Coast Railway with the port of Carolinensiel , where the ferry to Wangerooge was located. On July 1, 1890, the extension to the new Harle harbor was opened . The management was taken over from the beginning by the Grand Ducal Oldenburg Railway GOE.

The route developed in deficit. Thereupon, on April 6, 1897 (retroactive to January 1 of the year), the GOE took over the JCEG, whose line has since been part of this state railway and its successor. The German Federal Railroad placed them on 24 September 1989 silent for freight transport. Today a cycle path runs along parts of the former railway line.
